Soundtrack: All The Empires Of The World - 'last rites' ([link])

... a glimpse of reality captured in a nearby railroad station, making me think about implications of "rising from below...". an ascending stair, a plane departing into the night sky, a tall building being erected from a "hole in the ground", a society rising from a lower to a higher cultural, intellectual, technological level, a stone being lifted from the ground in order to be thrown... a change in a "status quo" seems inherent to all of these conceptions, same as the (physical) idea of spending energy on making things rise to a new, "higher" level. perhaps we all should stand and spend energy, put effort into things important to us in order to make them rise and grow... ;)
